The Problem

Dupont Community Credit Union in Waynesboro, VA, had an aging TPO roof system that had developed issues in multiple sections over time. The TPO membrane had become vulnerable to water infiltration, and the insulation beneath it had compromised energy efficiency. Additionally, the shingle and metal roof areas required updates to prevent leaks. As a result, the building's owners faced increased maintenance costs and energy inefficiency.

The Solution

Our team inspected the insulation, replaced any damaged areas, and installed an additional insulation layer to improve thermal efficiency. This upgrade will help maintain indoor temperatures, reducing heating and cooling costs. We installed a durable TPO membrane with extra reinforcement in high-traffic areas such as walkways and around gas lines, ensuring long-term safety for roof maintenance.

Across all sections, 24-gauge Kynar-finished edge metal was installed along the perimeter for enhanced durability, and sacrificial TPO membranes were added beneath mechanical equipment to prevent wear. We also removed outdated shingles and installed a new metal panel system. To improve water management, we added new gutters, downspouts, and snow guards to control water flow and safely manage snow accumulation during winter months.

The Benefit

These improvements will increase the roof's durability, enhance the building's energy efficiency, and lower heating and cooling costs over time. The materials used come with extensive warranties, providing Dupont Community Credit Union with long-term protection and peace of mind for its updated roof.
