Valley Ice
Quicksburg, VA | SF: 10,000 | General Contractor: Valley Ice, LLC
The Problem
Valley Ice required a dependable roofing solution for their new freezer addition to maintain strict temperature control, ensure durability, and integrate seamlessly with the existing manufacturing facility. The freezer environment’s unique demands, including thermal stress and energy efficiency, made the choice of materials and techniques critical to the project’s success.
The Solution
We focused on a custom roofing system designed to meet the freezer addition’s specific requirements. High-density polyiso insulation (100 psi) was installed directly onto the structurally sloped roof deck, creating a durable base. To ensure long-term weather resistance and energy efficiency, a fully adhered 60-mil white EPDM membrane roof system was applied. A specialized sponge tubing expansion joint was designed and installed to maintain flexibility and stability where the addition connected to the main building. Custom-fabricated aluminum gravel stops, gutters, and downspouts in the owner’s chosen color added a clean and polished finish.
The Benefits
The completed project delivers exceptional performance for Valley Ice’s freezer addition by maintaining a controlled interior environment, enhancing energy efficiency, and ensuring durability under thermal stress. Seamless integration with the existing facility provides long-term reliability, giving Valley Ice the confidence to focus on their operations. This project features a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty and a 2-year contractor warranty, reflecting our commitment to long-term value.
