The Problem

Skyline Roofing was proud to help build the new Harrisonburg Public Works Administration Building in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This 16,412-square-foot project required precision and expertise, particularly in the installation of its advanced roofing systems. We faced the challenge of implementing both TPO and metal roofing systems, with the challenge of managing large metal panels being a significant part of the project.

The Solution:

Transporting and installing long, pre-formed metal panels presented unique logistical hurdles. Due to their size, weight, and intricate dimensions, traditional transportation methods posed risks of potential damage and difficulty maneuvering. To overcome this challenge, we formed the 24-gauge, Kynar-finished metal panels on-site, directly at roof level. This innovative approach not only mitigated the risk of damage during transportation but also ensured that each panel fit the roof’s precise specifications, guaranteeing a seamless installation.

In addition to the metal roofing, the project featured a fully adhered TPO membrane system, known for its exceptional durability and energy efficiency. We installed custom-fabricated coping caps, gutters, and downspouts to also ensure the building’s drainage system was robust and effective. We installed premium walkway pads and a safety guardrail to enhance accessibility and safety for future maintenance.

Thanks to our problem-solving mindset and attention to detail, the Harrisonburg Public Works building now has a state-of-the-art roofing system that combines both aesthetic appeal and long-lasting weather protection. With warranties extending up to 35 years, the building is well-equipped to withstand the elements and provide a reliable, secure environment for years to come.
