Front Royal United Methodist Church
Front Royal, VA | SF: 8,682 | General Contractor: Skyline Roofing, Inc.
The Problem
Front Royal United Methodist Church’s roof system was outdated, with worn-out materials and insufficient insulation that left the building vulnerable to leaks, temperature loss, and rising energy costs. Additionally, the roof’s drainage system required an update in order to prevent long-term damage from pooling water.
The Solution
We delivered a complete re-roof for the church’s five roof areas to prioritize functionality and durability for our client. Our team began with the careful removal of old stone ballast and the aging EPDM membrane, ensuring all materials were properly disposed of while preserving any reusable insulation. For improved energy efficiency, new layers of premium polyiso insulation were installed directly over the existing insulation, followed by the application of a weather-resistant EPDM membrane to ensure long-lasting protection across all roof areas.
To protect against water buildup and create efficient draining, we installed new retrofit roof drains, overflow scuppers, and gravel stops. Safety enhancements included a new roof hatch for easier and safer access, along with walkway pads to ensure secure footing during future maintenance.
The Benefits
With the re-roof complete, Front Royal United Methodist Church now enjoys a reliable, weatherproof roof that significantly improves energy efficiency and reduces heating and cooling costs. The new drainage and safety enhancements also ensure that the roof can handle heavy rain and routine maintenance with ease, bringing peace of mind to the church community. This project includes a 20-year material and labor warranty and a 2-year contractor warranty to provide long-term assurance for the church's investment.
