Pioneer Bank

In Phase 1 of this ambitious project, we set out to revitalize Pioneer Bank's iconic barrel roof. We began this unique roof replacement by meticulously cutting the existing EPDM roofing material at 5-foot intervals, preparing the surface for a comprehensive transformation. To ensure long-term durability, new perimeter wood blocking, matching the new insulation thickness, was installed. We took insulation seriously, inserting 1.5# density flute filler insulation between the existing seams of the standing seam roof and enhancing the R-value by adding 1-1/2" iso insulation across the entire roof area. To bring a modern, clean look to the bank, we mechanically fastened a pristine white 60 mil TPO membrane, complete with all associated flashings and trims. We didn't stop there; our attention to detail extended to the parapet walls, where we installed shop-fabricated 24-gauge Kynar finished gravel stop edge metal, adding not only durability but also a polished edge to the roofline. For efficient drainage, we incorporated a shop-fabricated 24-gauge Kynar finished box gutter, complete with a 3" x 4" corrugated downspout, ensuring rainwater is directed to the ground.

But the transformation at Pioneer Bank didn't end there. In Phase 2, we took on the challenge of updating the bank's roofing while preserving its unique character. This phase included the careful removal and proper disposal of the existing membrane and insulation on the upper roof of the main office building, setting the stage for a sleek, modern roof. To bolster the roof structure and enhance insulation, we mechanically fastened ¼” per foot tapered insulation, ranging from a minimum of 2" thickness to a maximum of 4.3" thickness, creating an average R-value of 17.0. The tapered insulation was carefully designed to slope to drain on all four sides of the roof, ensuring proper water runoff. To top it all off, we fully adhered a black 60 mil EPDM black membrane, complete with all flashing, details, and terminations. We also replaced the current perimeter metal with shop-fabricated 24-gauge Kynar-finished drip edge, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the bank's roofing system.

Additionally, as part of Phase 2, we undertook the task of revamping the roofing on the main building. This involved the meticulous removal and proper disposal of the existing asbestos shingles, followed by the installation of a synthetic underlayment as a vapor barrier. To complete the transformation, we installed a 26-gauge 16” nail strip metal roof panel with 1” standing seams. Our commitment to detail was evident in the installation of all flashing, tie-ins, associated trims, and pipe boots, adhering to the manufacturer’s specifications.
